The first electric car charging station was inaugurated in Cairo last week. It's part of a plan to introduce electric vehicles to Egypt as an alternative to fuel engine vehicles. Electric cars have been operating in other countries in the continent such as South Africa, but it's still a brand new concept in Egypt. A US$1.5-million electric rail project is among the many deals signed between China and Egypt during President Xi Jinping's state visit. The rails, designed to link Cairo and the surrounding areas, covers a total length of 70 km. (13 Dec 2017) LEADIN: Since the war in Syria broke out, thousands have fled the violence and looked to make a life elsewhere. Rather than going to Europe like many of his peers, one enterprising Syrian man decided to set up his business ventures in Egypt. STORYLINE: Tuk tuks are a common sight on the streets of Egypt. But now there is something new on the market. Ismail Abdelhameed, a 34-year-old Syrian, has imported a new generation of tuk tuks to the streets of Cairo. His bright red model is an electric-powered vehicle that creates less smoke and noise than its more traditional counterparts. For the busy streets of the Egyptian capital, this could be an important new addition. "The idea came to me because of the evolution we live in, as well as the increase in gas prices and the...

In order to celebrate the first week of this channel, I updated my response to the first request I have gotten. I am working on some requests and hope to upload them soon. I have noted that the studio version differs a bit from the live one (on the live ones Robert uses full barre chords (so as to get a fuller sound in a trio format) but the chords are the same, just fuller and punkier!). As for the song... although it does not seem like a difficult one, I assure it is not easy to nail 100% right, plus, this song is pretty much away from my comfort zone, which on the other hand it came out as a good thing, because I have learnt stuff outside the realms of the musical language I am used to deal with.

Last year we ran an electric generator on biogas in the Zabaleen community of Cairo Egypt, but we quickly broke the pull-start mechanism of the engine. This time, on Oct. 7 2010, we removed the starter and used an electric drill with a 21mm socket wrench (using a screw bolt and three nuts to affix it to the drill; a 19mm socket wrench would have also worked) to start the engine. We found that the choke should be set about half way. We also learned that the regulator which comes with the US Carburetion tri-fuel kit is not necessary for low pressure biogas; only the venturi bushing that comes with the kit (which can be installed between the carburetor and the air filter in 15 minutes). A simple valve partially opened (not fully open) provides the right amount of biogas. We put steel wool ...
